$50k is a lot, but these sorts of limited production cars tend to hold their value. Also any sense of regret that I might have after buying a $50k Subaru would be forgotten. I know this because...

Aren’t they pretty much all sold? NA only got like 500 of them or something... Or you could wait for the 2019's and get a normal STI in that cool new grey color for close to 10 grand less and not have to worry about scratching your fancy pants carbon fiber roof and wing, and have an actual spare tire.

Doesn’t matter how well it holds its value you are still paying 50K for an STi. If it were a BMW 1M that actually appreciated only then it is worth, IMO. But then again you wouldnt know until after a few years so...

I agree that the RA is CP all day long. I mean I guess that its all about the special edition tax, but its a freakin Subaru, not an integrale. Buy cheaper STI, mod, go fast.

Yea I mean I’d still be in a loaded STi limited for 7-8k less if I was actually in the market, but I don’t think 50k is that outlandish. My S3 was $50k and yea it’s a little nicer, but I know the STi is more fun. It’s a little more purpose built and it’s got 3 pedals. It for sure holds value better than the S3.

Anything that it competes with is nearly as expensive or can at least be optioned to be. I don’t think you’ll get in a civic type R for less than 45k.

You don’t buy a limited run car for the best price.

Limited production + Subaru fanboys willing to pay a premium = less depreciation than you think
